Tin Can support coming to Lectora

There’s little that makes a Tin Can Evangelist happier than when we hear about a new Tin Can API adopter. And I must admit, this latest announcement has us grinning from ear to ear!

Lectora®, one of the world’s leading e-Learning authoring tools used by most Global 2000 companies in more than 125 countries (read: they’re a pretty big deal) will be including support for the Tin Can API in the upcoming release of Lectora Version 11. Tin Can Support will also be included in the next release of the CourseMill LMS.

With the addition of Lectora, the majority of the world’s most popular authoring tools have adopted or have plans to adopt Tin Can. Learning management system providers take notice. Now’s the time to support the Tin Can API!

    It’s really suprising me how quickly the new API is being adopted. I often wonder what the main motivation is for this? Whether it’s to promote and encourage use of the API or whether it is to be seen to be leading edge. Probably a mix of both. Really encouraging though. It will be interesting to see how quickly it is picked up by enterprise systems. I also look forward to a first enquiry from a client about Tin Can API. With the speed, or lack of speed that 2004 was adopted I didn’t think it would be in my lifetime, but software such as Articulate and Lectora is really going to raise the profile of Tin Can and start discussion amongst content vendors and their clients.
