The big talk at PlugFest 2013 was about Tin Can API (xAPI) conformance. There were no tools to help LRSs test how closely they adhered to the Tin Can spec. A conformance test suite is something that’s hugely needed, but it takes a lot of time and a lot of work to create one.
We decided to dedicate some serious horsepower to getting a test suite started, and that’s what you’ll find here. It’s important to note that this isn’t an official “Tin Can certification”, but it’s a step towards having the ability to allow official Tin Can certifications. It’s also not a full test suite, but it’s a good start.
We’re very glad that ADL started the xAPI_LRS_Test project to help LRSs conform to the Tin Can API specification. We’re also glad to have worked to contribute the next round of work that is now a part of that public conformance test suite to which anyone can contribute. We expect to continue working with the community to advance the API itself as well as the project of conformance to create a vibrant ecosystem of tracking experiences. We all did this.
